He has sung supporting roles in the opera seasons of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Oviedo, Bilbao and the Canary Islands Music Festival, as well as with the Principality of Asturias Symphony, Asturias International Music Festival, OFGC, Canary Islands Zarzuela Festival , RNE or Promuscan.
In 2000 he became director of the OFGC Choir, achieving resounding successes in the OFGC Season with repertoire from the baroque to the 20th century, as well as in the Canary Islands Music Festival.
In recent years he has developed a great activity as a conductor: the Mateo Guerra Chamber Choir project, conducting Kodály’s Brevis Mass, Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, Bach cantatas and premieres by Canarian composers. He debuted as a symphonic conductor at the head of the Zheijang Symphony Orchestra in China. In 2008 he debuted with the Las Palmas Symphony Orchestra in a lyrical gala with tenors Celso Albelo and Pancho Corujo and in 2010 he conducted it together with the OFGC Choir in Carmina Burana. This same year he directed an Anthology of Zarzuela with young Canarian talents at the Canary Islands Zarzuela Festival. He has directed Katiuska de Sorozábal for the OSLP and, recently, La del manojo de rosas by Sorozábal and La montería de Guerrero for the JOGC.
Added to all this is his work as a singing teacher and teaching director of the OFGC Foundation’s Choral Conducting Course. He has written numerous program notes for the OFGC and the Las Palmas Philharmonic Society and has participated in conferences and round tables on aspects of singing (Campus of Excellence 2008).
