Initially made up of a nonet, it resumed its activity in 2006 with great momentum, gradually increasing its members to the current thirty that allow, within the capabilities of a chamber group, to address highly demanding repertoires.

The growth of the choir in every sense has been accompanied by successes and recognitions that culminate in the two occasions that it has won the Grand National Prize for Choral Singing, in 2012 and in 2018, and more than a dozen first prizes in various national and international competitions such as the Choir Competition obtained in Portugal in 2019.

The repertoire usually stands out for its variety and innovation, it frequently incorporates recently created pieces by the most prestigious composers in the choral world, as well as special attention to new works by new authors from the Canary Islands. Added to these characteristics is the geographical and cultural peculiarity of the island choirs where the tricontinental crossroads allow for efficient bringing together styles that are very distant from each other, from Scandinavian music to Caribbean and South American rhythms.

Since its inception it has been directed by Mariola Rodríguez Suárez, although during this time it has had the opportunity to be under the direction of renowned directors such as: Michael Gieler, Eligio Quintero or René Jacobs, among others.

Mariola Rodríguez is an experienced choral director who has been part of juries in various competitions, in choral workshops and is the artistic director of the Canarian Choral Music Week.
