He studied at the Zaragoza Conservatory and the Universities of Zaragoza and Bologna (as a Reale Collegio di Spagna scholar), as well as in numerous specialized courses. His training was particularly influenced by José V. González Valle, José L. González Uriol, Jan Willem Jansen, Lorenzo Bianconi, and Salvador Mas.
After earning his doctorate, he joined the former Spanish Institute of Musicology (now IMF-CSIC).
Musicology & Research
Since 2000, González has directed the CSIC Postgraduate Program in Keyboard Studies, and from 2006 to 2014, he served as editor of Anuario Musical.
With over 300 publications, his work focuses on historical musical performance and the recovery of Spanish music from the 17th and 18th centuries. His notable editions include works by Joseph Ruiz Samaniego and José de Nebra, recently restoring Nebra’s opera Venus y Adonis.

He also coordinates the comprehensive research of the Zaragoza Cathedral Music Archive and advises on the restoration of historical instruments for the Zaragoza Provincial Government.

In 1992, González founded Los Músicos de Su Alteza, with which he has performed across Europe, the Americas, and North Africa.
