O. Messiaen (1908 – 1992)
Olivier Messiaen manifests in his work, Visions de l’Amen, a mystical sense of communion with nature. Written in 1943 during the occupation of France, it is composed of seven meditations that Messiaen composed for the piano brilliance of Ivonne Loriod. This work covers the main themes on which the composer developed the entirety of his artistic creation, namely: a deep religiosity, the spiritual character of creation, ornithology, a deep sensitivity towards nature and the strong attraction that it exerted on everything. his work the figure of Jesus Christ. Love, as the subject of creation, and desire, an active power that seeks to find its imprint, become the guiding threads of this aesthetic experience.
It is described as an allegorical music that genuinely represents and reflects the agony of Jesus Christ, the ecstasy of the soul carried away by love, or the cosmic joy from creation to death or finality (Consommation).
