Written in 1943 during the occupation of France, it is composed of seven meditations that Messiaen composed for the piano brilliance of Ivonne Loriod. This work covers the main themes on which the composer developed the entirety of his artistic creation, namely: a deep religiosity, the spiritual character of creation, ornithology, a deep sensitivity towards nature and the strong attraction that it exerted on everything. his work the figure of Jesus Christ.
